Serial party-hoppers Larry Sng and Jeffri Kittingan were among the holdout government MPs who caused a narrow defeat of the term limit bill in Parliament today.
They were joined in the hall of shame by MIC’s lone MP M Saravanan who has been sniping away at his own government for more than a year.
Aside from the three renegade recalcitrants, Lawas, Tenom, Sembrong and Libaran MPs also did not deliver.
146 MPs voted in support of the bill, falling just two votes short of the two-thirds majority (148) required to amend the Constitution. This includes a 100 percent turnout from Pakatan Harapan.
A total of 32 MPs were absent while another 44 did not vote. The opposition Perikatan Nasional stayed firmly away from supporting any reforms, as is their habit.
The Constitution (Amendment) Bill 2026, tabled by law and institutional reform minister Azalina Othman Said on Feb 23, outlines a lifetime cap on the prime ministership, with time served counted, whether continuous or across separate terms.
This amendment can be brought back in any future session given its narrow defeat.

What a lousy lot. Throw them out!
Waste of space
Now that’s a black day.
Sara is very vengeful. Just because of the temple issue, Sara is boycotting the govt’s reform initiative
But he has loyal supporters.
Sorry I mean well-paid to support him.
Now it seems Larry was held up in traffic,
Sara was praying
And Jeffri was playing leapfrog.
Bull#^#% la!
I see Saravanabhavan’s defenders have gone quiet.
