This past few days has seen the MIC circus repeat its nonsense.
Umno President Ahmad Zahid Hamidi declared that MIC and MCA half-baked breakaway attempt was over.
In fact he called it a storm in a teacup.
But then soon after, MIC deputy president M Saravanan has been getting his man in Malaysiakini to stir up the hornet’s nest again by writing that the party’s application to join PN has been approved.
A senior MIC official told DeKapital he is tired of Saravanan’s games, and he’s not the only one.
“He is the one pushing for a cabinet position. He tried to pressure PM by attacking Madani govt in Tamil press.
“Called the division leaders to push for a break. And then Muhyiddin got toppled as PN chief,” said the source.
He said that the momentum in MIC is shifting away from Saravanan’s agenda as many are aware that they could be in bigger trouble if they end up with PN.
The central issue is not where MIC chooses to position itself politically. The more uncomfortable truth is that MIC’s political influence has been in steady decline for years, and no shift from Barisan Nasional (BN) to PN can reverse that trajectory.
In fact, to add insult to injury BN has now taken in PPP, meaning that even within the small coalition MIC would be fighting for Indian seats.
Similarly if they jump to PN, there is more small fry like MIPP, Urimai and MAP awaiting them:
The actions of the Saravanan camp are rooted in delusion and most of the other top leaders are tired of his agitation.
This article is utter nonsense by itself. In the first place it was MIC president Tan Sri Vigneswaran who said that issues with BN was yet to be settled following Zahid’s storm in the tea cup statement.
It was not Saravanan!
Second is the writer’s error to conclude that Saravanan had “his man” in Malaysiakini to stir up the hornets nest. Is Malaysiakini so ignorant to run a planted story without verification? The story was quoting Bersatu sources and not MIC. And certainly not Saravanan!
The above story is also from an anonymous source. So how sure are we that this too was not planted by some leaders in MIC to portray Saravanan as the bad boy.
If this MIC leader quoted in the article is genuine then surely this matter would have been discussed within the party circles and not in the media.
Saravanan has more to gain by MIC staying in BN. He stands a good chance of retaining the Tapah seat at the coming GE. So why should Saravanan champion the PN’s cause and want the party to switch camps? As future PN candidate he would need to rebrand himself in Tapah and work double hard to win over voters who previously voted against him. That’s logic!
The Editor who wrote this comments or editorial, whatever you call it is severely misguided. It would be good if media plays its role of checking and rechecking facts before publishing any news defaming any leader. That’s called responsible reporting, unless the work of this portal is to defame people and leaders!
Much ado about nothing – a one-seat party.
MIC, MCA, Gerakan, PPP all may have a proud past but it’s largely in the past.
What they have now are assets. Not relevance or support.
Retaining Tapah lol
Delusional followers
No wonder MIC is still relevant because there followers like you, still believing in the useless party
Or maybe you’re benefitting financially from it or from Sara himself.
While Vignes is the party leader, it’s well known that as the only MIC MP and a former minister, Saravanan was hoping to get more out of his position!
But once Muhyiddin’s position became uncertain, they had to change their tune.
Now the party is caught in no man’s land.
Adding PPP to BN was Zahid’s masterstroke!
This thing is turning into a farce.
Get me some popcorn.
He looks like Samy Vellu. I can’t ignore how much alike they look. How come ah?
Shhhh … don’t say la bro
Masih wujudka ini Parti
Ini parti bukan untuk rakyat India ttp untuk boss2 atas sapu dan songlap segalanya
This party no longer champion Indians or their plight.
A party of self interest
Delusional leaders and lost.
This is not a fair article
He is one of our heroes. For community, for temples, for schools. He has given so much. Done so much
I think dekapital must be working with other jealous MIC leaders or Punithan’s gang in MIPP.
My heart bleeds for him.
