For the last couple of months businessman Albert Tei, social media persona Rafidah Ibrahim, and other content creators have held protests and sit-ins at the MACC headquarters and the Communications Ministry.
Demanding to meet the minister, Albert has even threatened to defecate in public if he doesn’t get his way.
How disgusting!
He and Rafidah are demanding to know why their social media accounts have been restricted or blocked by the authorities.
So just who is this vile man?
Well, Tei is currently facing trial after being hit with five corruption charges for allegedly bribing Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin, the former senior political secretary to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. Tei claimed trial and pleaded not guilty to all counts.
Tei initially faced two counts of giving bribes totaling RM350,000 to two Sabah assemblymen to secure mineral prospecting approvals
His legal battles have expanded with a high-profile defamation suit filed by former MACC chief Azam Baki.
The charges against Tei, framed under Section 17(b) of the MACC Act 2009, stem from an alleged plot to facilitate mineral exploration licence approvals in Sabah.
The initial four charges are that Tei allegedly gave RM140,000 in cash, alongside home furniture and electrical appliances valued at RM36,829.03, to Shamsul Iskandar on four separate occasions between November 24, 2023, and March 5, 2024.
He faces an additional charge for transferring a cash bribe of RM64,924 to Shamsul via a bank account in Kajang between November 28, 2023, and September 23, 2024.
If convicted, Tei faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine of no less than five times the bribe value or RM10,000, whichever is higher.
Latheefa Koya is among the lawyers representing Tei.
Malaysiakini is the website that carries Tei stories. Hundreds of them.
Tei has no links to Na’imah Khalid, wife of the late former finance minister Daim Zainuddin.

This guy is a crook. Why do people give him face?
He claimed that he was threatened, obstructed and victimised when attempting to expose an alleged corruption scandal involving several politicians in Sabah.
But actually he was the main puppet master behind the scandal! Just that he turned on his allies.
Doesn’t make him a good guy. Especially if he is taking money to attack government!
Obviously taking money. Question is – from who?
