Rafizi, Wong Chen And Gang Are Neglecting Their Own Constituents

PKR rebels like Rafizi Ramli, Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, Wong Chen and gang have clearly forgotten what they were elected for.

The cry among Pandan residents is – have you seen our MP Rafizi lately? And the answer is a resounding no.

Rafizi was until recently PKR deputy president and Economy Minister. He was defeated in the party elections and resigned as minister in a huff.

What he seems to have forgotten is that his duty is to serve the people who elected him. In fact now that he is not wearing so many hats he should have more time to devote to constituents.

Instead he is playing at being an opposition MP, haranguing the government over every policy discussion, like a man who can’t see past his own bitterness.

It seems like every few days Rafizi is there holding a press conference or shooting a podcast. If only he worked as hard solving the problems in Pandan.

The same must be said for Setiawangsa MP Nik Nazmi, Subang MP Wong Chen, Wangsa Maju MP Zahir Hassan and Ampang MP Rodziah Ismail.

Despite years of collective representation, their focus on their own constituencies is negligible.

Just as Rafizi had let down the Pandan voters, Wong Chen has failed the people of Subang.

They are rarely seen on the ground, barely engage with the community, and cannot be bothered to address the problems faced by the rakyat.

It’s as if they are so blinded by bitterness that they have forgotten they were elected to serve the people.

The people of Subang won’t forget Wong Chen’s tone deaf and dismissive handling of the Putra Heights incident, where public safety and community concern were at their peak.

Instead of showing leadership or offering reassurance, he made insensitive and poorly timed social media posts that only fueled public frustration. In a moment that demanded empathy and responsibility, he chose to deflect and posture, failing to meet the needs of his own community.

Come next year’s general election, we can expect that the party will jettison these disgruntled and non-performing MPs.

In fact it needs to do so as quickly as possible before they cause more damage.
